Learning to kitesurf in Lanzarote

The consistent winds and warm weather of Lanzarote make learning the sport of Kitesurfing much more accessible.
The five kilometer long beach has been recently zoned into separate areas for all water users. The kitesurfing zone is accessible by following the road up the right hand side of the Famara bunglows all the way to the top then turning left and following the track back down to the beach. The track is not in the best of conditions but is passable in any sort of car. Once you get back down to the beach the kite zone starts.

Learning to Kitesurf on Famara beach
Low tide on Famara beach is the best time to kite. At high tide there can be little beach area making it difficult to launch the kite plus offering cramped conditions for users.

Most Kitesurf schools charge around 90 euros per day. This includes all equipment, instruction and transfer from the town to Famara.
